SAMABOT Embedded System International Design Contest
SAMABOT Embedded System International Design Contest(SESIDC) is an exiting robotics game and sport of the mind designed for participants from university students to the member of society discover how interesting and rewarding the life of engineers and researchers can be. It is "Built-in Technology" to support the world industry such as cars and consumer electronics nowadays.
Each year SESIDC teams embark on an adventurous Challenge based on built-in software field. Guided by a team coach and assisted by mentors, the participants:
- Research and try their skill while enjoying it,
Robotics
- Why Robotics?
- Robotics can be use in education to teach Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) concepts.
- Robotics allows a teacher to talk about design, innovation, problem solving, and teamwork at the same time they are talking about math, science, and technology; robotics puts academic concepts in context.
- People of all ages are fascinated as a robot moves around the environment seemingly making decisions on its own.
- The skill sets students learn as they work with robotics can easily be transferred to many other industries.
What is robot?
Robot is a machanical, artificial agent and. It is usually an electromechanical system which automatically operates without human controlling. A robot gathers information about its environment (senses) and uses that information (thinks, search) to follow instructions to do work (acts).
There is endless variety in the size, shape and jobs of robots. Some robots are used day after day in factories, while others are highly experimental and use artificial intelligence to behave more and more like living creatures, able to act independently in changing environments. Robots are being designed to perform precision surgery, explore space, the ocean, other dangerous areas.
Development guide
The guide pages found here are collaborative of SAMABOT Developer Network for content and resources specific to developing for the robotics. Whether you are looking for code samples, technical overviews, documentation, our developer team updates or any other information you may need on this guide.
Guide to establishing a team
Start a team at SAMABOT programs and help inspire the next generation of engineering innovators! Few activities offer the diversity of opportunities to engage young people in the fun and excitement of engineering...
INTRODUCTION
The need to excite students about math, science and engineering has never been stronger. While many companies and organizations have established bridges with local schools to help ensure the future presence of a qualified work force, few programs have been developed on the national level. One successful program is the national robotics competition organized by SAMABOT.
Getting Started
The following pages should introduce you to the SAMABOT project and programs, some best practices the community has accumulated.
Awards
SAMABOT Awards represent the highest achievement for any teams with no matter which Championship tournament they compete in, receive judging for a group of awards that recognize a standard of excellence for all participants.
SAMABOT divides the awards into four main categories:
- Technical
- Team Presentation
- Special Recognition
- Judges’ Awards
Each category contains several individual awards. Some larger competitions may also offer second or third place awards in some categories. All Championship tournament organizers are required to present Technical and Team Presentation Awards, but they may use their discretion when presenting other award categories.
Establish a Team
Establishing a team at SAMABOT is an exciting, unique, and rewarding experience. It provides students, mentors, and coaches with an incredible opportunity to develop skills that will be beneficial throughout their lives. Your team will utilize your collective engineering ingenuity, teamwork and problem-solving skills, leadership experience, and creative marketing, to design, build, and showcase your creation. You will be part of the SAMABOT community, which is an extensive network of people from all around the world who are always willing to lend a hand.

Sponsors
SAMABOT is supported by a strong network of corporations, foundations, educational and professional institutions, and individuals. This support, through financial contributions, in-kind donations, employee volunteerism and mentoring provides vital resources for SAMABOT organizational growth, and is a testimony to the value found in SAMABOT's programs.
SAMABOT greatly appreciates the support of its sponsors, suppliers, and contributors. Please join our community of companies, colleges and universities, government agencies, foundations, professional associations, other non-profit organizations, and individuals working to inspire youth to pursue science and technology excellence.
Volunteer
SAMABOT is truly a volunteer driven organization.
Through your continued support and dedication to SAMABOT programs as Committee Members, Partners, Team Mentors, Coaches, Team Parents and Event Volunteers, you make SAMABOT possible.
We are grateful to the volunteers who give their time, talent and expertise to make each of SAMABOT National Robotics Competition events and SAMABOT Championship such huge successes.
